Terms and definitions established in GB/T 15546 apply to this document.
4 Technical Requirements
4.1 General Requirements
Cold rolling rolls shall comply with this document and the agreed drawings, agreements, etc., between the supplier and the purchaser.
4.2 Designation and Chemical Composition
4.2.1 The designations and chemical compositions of steels for cold rolling rolls shall be as specified in Table 1. Other designations or chemical compositions may also be agreed upon between the supplier and the purchaser. The permissible deviations for chemical composition analysis of roll blanks or finished products shall comply with GB/T 15547.
4.2.2 The impurities Pb, Sn, As, Sb, and Bi in the chemical composition shall be ≤0.02%.
4.3 Smelting Methods
4.3.1 The smelting method for steels for cold rolling rolls shall preferably be induction furnace or electric furnace (converter) + ladle refining + vacuum degassing + electroslag remelting. Other methods may also be agreed upon between the supplier and the purchaser. The specific smelting method shall be indicated in the contract or technical agreement.
4.3.2 Cold rolling rolls shall be forged from electroslag remelted ingots, with a forging ratio of ≥3 for the roll body.
