Child riding and activities - General safety requirements
1 Scope
This document specifies the general safety requirements for children's riding and activity articles, and describes the corresponding test methods.
This document is applicable to products designed or scheduled for children under 14 years old to ride and move, and can carry children's weight. Including, but not limited to, the products of Table A.1 in Annex A.
This document does not include:
——Design products for riding on public transport roads;
——Children's toys, that is, any product designed or obviously intended for use by children under the age of 14 in play;
——Products of stunt riding or performance;
——Children's amusement, sports facilities and teaching equipment used in public places.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1
children's ride-on and activity articles
designed or intended to have children's riding and movement functions, have fixed load-bearing surfaces (including standing surfaces and seating surfaces), travel through appropriate driving mechanisms, are manually driven by cyclists (front wheels, rear wheels), or are electric-driven products that can carry children's weight
Note 1: Common such products include but are not limited to: children's bicycles, children's tricycles, children's electric scooters, unicycles (including unicycles, special unicycles), variant children's tricycles, etc.

4 Safety requirements
4.1 General requirements
This document is the basic general safety requirement for children's riding and activity products. The specific safety requirements of specific products shall be specified in their product standards, which shall not be lower than the requirements of this document. If there is no product standard for children's riding and activity supplies, it shall meet the requirements of this document.
Children's cycling and activity articles shall comply with the requirements of Chapter 4 both in normal use and before and after testing according to Chapter 5.
If a specific product has other functions, the evaluation of product safety shall be combined with the compliance with the corresponding safety requirements of applicable specific product standards.
4.2 Mechanical and physical properties
4.2.1 Materials
All materials shall be visually clean and pollution-free. Materials shall be inspected visually rather than by magnification.
4.2.2 Fastening reliability and strength of safety fasteners
All bolts, screws, nuts, etc. used to fasten the parts related to the safe use of products shall not be broken, loose, cracked visibly to the naked eye or lose their due efficacy before and after testing.
4.2.3 Protective end caps
Protective end caps used in children's riding and activity products shall be capable of protecting children from injuries such as cuts, punctures, abrasions, skin penetration, or internal harm. Protective end caps or protective devices used to cover exposed protrusions shall withstand a pull force of 70 N without detaching. Brake cable end caps shall comply with the requirements of the relevant product standards.
