1 Scope
This document specifies the technical requirements, labelling, and information to be provided by the manufacturer for microwave radiation protective clothing applicable to the frequency range of 300 MHz to 40 GHz, and describes test methods.
This document is applicable to reflective microwave radiation protective clothing produced by metal fiber blending or fabric metallization, as well as absorptive microwave radiation protective clothing using microwave-absorbing materials.
2 Normative References
The following documents contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute essential requirements for this document. For dated references, only the edition cited applies. For undated references, the latest edition (including amendments) applies.

3 Terms and Definitions
Terms and definitions as defined in GB/T 12903 and the following apply to this document.
3.1 Microwave
Electromagnetic waves with frequencies ranging from 300 MHz to 300 GHz.
Note: Includes both pulsed and continuous microwaves.
3.2 Dynamic Range
The amplitude range of a receiver system operating in the linear region, equal to the difference between the maximum and minimum signal values.
3.3 Phantom Man Model
A complete plastic dummy made of low-loss, low-dielectric constant electromagnetic wave-transparent material, including head, torso, and limbs.
3.4 Shielding Effectiveness (SE)
The ratio of the electric field intensity E0E0 at a point on the phantom man model without wearing microwave radiation protective clothing to the electric field intensity E1E1 after wearing, expressed logarithmically:
SESE: Shielding effectiveness, in decibels (dB);
E0E0: Electric field intensity without protective clothing, in volts per meter (V/m);
E1E1: Electric field intensity with protective clothing, in volts per meter (V/m).
4 Technical Requirements
4.1 General Requirements
4.1.1 Microwave radiation protective clothing shall be sized according to GB 20097, with adjustments made for sizes outside the standard range.
4.1.2 Microwave radiation protective clothing shall not use exposed metal components (e.g., metal buttons, zippers, metal labels).
Note: To prevent high potential differences induced by metal parts in strong electric fields, leading to discharge.
4.1.3 Microwave radiation protective clothing shall be packaged in sealed, independent containers with antioxidants.
Note: To prevent oxidation of metal textiles during storage and transportation.
4.2 Structure and Appearance
4.2.1 Microwave radiation protective clothing shall be designed for simplicity and practicality, with the following styles based on usage requirements:
a) Full-body shielding protective clothing;
Note 1: May include hoods, visors, gloves, and socks.
b) Separate shielding protective clothing;
Note 2: Includes jackets and trousers.
c) Local shielding protective clothing.
Note 3: Typically includes coats, vests, aprons, etc.
4.2.2 Full-body protective clothing and separate shielding clothing shall minimize gaps and holes caused by openings and seams. The overlapping size between the jacket hem and trousers waist shall exceed 20 cm.
4.3 Technical Requirements
4.3.1 The protective performance of microwave radiation protective clothing shall be classified into five shielding effectiveness levels (see Table 1).
4.3.2 The shielding effectiveness of the fabric shall not be lower than that of the finished garment.
4.3.3 For full-body protective clothing, the shielding effectiveness of hoods, gloves, and socks shall not be lower than that of the main body; transparent visors shall have a shielding effectiveness of at least 30 dB.
4.3.4 The physical and chemical performance indicators shall meet the requirements of Table 2.
5 Test Methods
5.1 The shielding effectiveness of finished garments shall be tested according to Appendix A, with measurement points as specified in Table 3.
a) For full-body protective clothing, test points shall include the head, chest, and lower abdomen.
Note: Head test point at eye level, chest at nipple level, and lower abdomen at the midpoint between the navel and perineum.
b) For separate protective clothing, test points shall include the chest and lower abdomen.
c) For local protective clothing, test points shall be selected from either the chest or lower abdomen.
