3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 5611 and the following apply.
3.1 cast grinding cyclops
A grinding medium used in a tube mill, having an approximately cylindrical shape with a lengthtodiameter ratio of less than 2.0.
3.2 diameter tolerance
The difference between the maximum or minimum diameter required on the same cast grinding segment and the nominal diameter.
3.3 length tolerance
The difference between the maximum or minimum length required for a cast grinding segment and the nominal length.
3.4 breakage ratio of cylpebs
The percentage of the weight of broken segments to the total weight of cast grinding segments used.
NOTE: A cast grinding segment is considered broken when its surface area (excluding the crosssectional area) is not more than 2/3 of the surface area of the segment.
3.5 cylpebs consumption
Under normal production operating conditions of a tube mill, the ratio of the weight of cast grinding segments consumed to the total weight of material ground.
4 Designation and code
4.1 The designation of chromium alloy cast iron cast grinding segments specified in this document specifies only the main alloying elements and their contents. It shall comply with GB/T 5612, and the alloying element contents shall be expressed as integers.
4.2 The code representation method for cast grinding segments is as follows:
5 Technical requirements
5.1 Delivery condition
Cast grinding segments shall be supplied in one of the following conditions:
a)Ascast;
b) Ascast with stress relief;
c) Hardened;
d) Hardened and tempered.
5.2 Specifications and dimensional tolerances
The specifications and dimensional tolerances of cast grinding segments shall comply with the provisions of Table 1.
5.3.2 Appropriate amounts of elements such as Mo, Cu, Ni and trace amounts of V, Ti, Nb, Zr, B, RE may be added to the cast grinding segments.
5.4 Hardness, breakage ratio and cylpebs consumption
5.4.1 The surface hardness of cast grinding segments shall comply with the provisions of Table 3.
Table 3 — Surface hardness of cast grinding segments
5.4.2 ZDcr12 to ZDcr35 cast grinding segments shall not be supplied in the ascast or ascast with stress relief condition.
5.4.3 The hardness difference between the surface and the geometric centre of cast grinding segments shall be less than or equal to 2 HRC.
5.4.4 The breakage ratio of cast grinding segments shall be less than or equal to 1%.
5.4.5 Whether the length of cast grinding segments is to be taken as an acceptance item shall be agreed upon between the supplier and the purchaser.
5.5 Casting defects
Cast grinding segments shall be free from casting defects such as cracks that affect their use.
5.6 Permissible surface defects
The permissible surface defects of cast grinding segments shall comply with the provisions of Table 4.
