4 Structural Types and Model Designations
4.1 Structural Types
4.1.1 The typical structures of globe valves are shown in Figure 1 and Figure 2.
4.2 Model Designation
Model designations shall be performed in accordance with GB/T 32808.
5 Technical Requirements
5.1 Face-to-Face Dimensions
5.1.1 The face-to-face dimensions and tolerances for internally threaded globe valves and lift check valves shall comply with Table 1.
5.1.2 The face-to-face dimensions and tolerances for flanged globe valves and lift check valves shall comply with GB/T 12221.
5.2 Connection Dimensions
5.2.1 For internally threaded valves, the end of the valve body shall use cylindrical pipe threads, and the connection dimensions shall comply with GB/T 7307.
5.2.2 For flanged valves, the end flange shall be integrally cast with the valve body, and the connection dimensions shall comply with GB/T 17241.1.
5.3 Pressure-Temperature Ratings
The pressure-temperature ratings of the shell material shall comply with GB/T 17241.1.
5.4 Materials
The materials for major valve components shall be selected in accordance with JB/T 5300.
5.5 Valve Body
5.5.1 The minimum wall thickness of the valve body shall comply with Table 2.
Table 2 Minimum Wall Thickness of Valve Body
5.5.2 The seat bore shall match the nominal size.
5.5.3 The cross-sectional area of the flow passage in the valve body shall not be less than the circular area of the nominal size.
5.5.4 A drain hole may be provided at the bottom of the valve body if required, with its structural dimensions determined by design. The minimum drain hole size shall be 15 mm.
5.5.5 The sealing surfaces of the end flanges shall be parallel, and the parallelism tolerance shall comply with GB/T 12221.
5.6 Bonnet
5.6.1 The minimum wall thickness of the bonnet shall not be less than the values specified in Table 2.
5.6.2 For valves with a nominal size ≤ DN65, the bonnet may be connected to the valve body by threads. For valves with a nominal size > DN65, the bonnet shall be connected by flanges with raised and recessed sealing faces.
5.6.3 When the bonnet is connected to the valve body by flanges, the number of connecting bolts shall not be fewer than 4.
5.6.4 If a upper sealing structure is required, the bonnet of the globe valve shall be equipped with such a structure. Globe valves with a upper sealing structure shall be specified in the order contract.
5.7 Disc and Seat
5.7.1 The connection between the disc and stem of the globe valve shall be reliable.
5.7.2 The sealing surfaces between the valve body and disc may be directly machined on the body or inlaid with sealing rings or surfaced with other metals. If surfacing is used, the thickness of the surfaced layer after machining shall not be less than 2 mm.
5.7.3 The opening height of the disc shall not be less than one-quarter of the nominal size.
5.7.4 Lift check valves shall be equipped with guiding mechanisms for the disc to cooperate with the bonnet.
5.8 Stem and Stem Nut
5.8.1 The minimum stem diameter shall comply with Table 3.
