3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1 auto tracking and targeting jet suppression system
Various indoor and outdoor fixed jet suppression devices that utilize UV-sensitive components, IR-sensitive components, imaging devices, thermal imaging devices, or other fire detection components to detect incipient fires, automatically track and target them, and achieve extinguishment through automatic control methods.
NOTE 1: The system consists of a fire suppression device with detection components and automatic control parts (hereinafter referred to as the "fire suppression device") and a fire fluid supply part.
NOTE 2: Fire suppression devices are classified into auto tracking and targeting fire monitor suppression devices, jet-type auto tracking and targeting jet suppression devices, and spray-type auto tracking and targeting jet suppression devices.
NOTE 3: The fire suppression component is the part of the fire suppression device that discharges the extinguishing medium.
3.2 targeting time
The time from when the test fire starts to burn until the system begins to discharge the extinguishing medium.
3.3
protection radius
For an auto tracking and targeting fire monitor suppression device or a jet-type auto tracking and targeting jet suppression device, the distance from the fire suppression component to the effective range of the jet; for a spray-type auto tracking and targeting jet suppression device, the distance from the center of the circular projection on the ground of the effective spray coverage to its circumference.
3.4
rated working pressure
The rated pressure at the inlet of the fire suppression component.
3.5
rated flow
The flow rate of the fire suppression component at the rated working pressure.
3.6
local controller
A system component for local control and information processing, having the functions of receiving and timely processing fire detection signals, issuing control and alarm information, driving the fire suppression component to target and extinguish the fire, receiving feedback signals, while simultaneously completing corresponding display and recording, and transmitting signals to a fire alarm control unit or a fire linkage control unit.
3.7
centralized controller
A system component for remote control and information processing, having the functions of receiving and timely processing fire detection signals, issuing control and alarm information, driving the fire suppression component to target and extinguish the fire, receiving feedback signals, while simultaneously completing corresponding display and recording, and transmitting signals to a fire alarm control unit or a fire linkage control unit.
4 Classification and Model Designation
4.1 Classification
Auto tracking and targeting jet suppression systems shall be classified according to flow rate and jet mode.
4.2 Classification by Flow Rate for Auto Tracking and Targeting Jet Suppression Systems
Classified by flow rate as:
a) Auto tracking and targeting fire monitor suppression devices, with a rated flow greater than 16 L/s;
b) Auto tracking and targeting jet suppression devices, with a rated flow not greater than 16 L/s.
4.3 Classification by Jet Mode for Auto Tracking and Targeting Jet Suppression Devices
Classified by jet mode as:
a) Jet-type auto tracking and targeting jet suppression devices, where the jet mode is jetting;
b) Spray-type auto tracking and targeting jet suppression devices, where the jet mode is spraying.
4.4 Model Designation
4.4.1 Rules for Model Designation
The model designation for auto tracking and targeting jet suppression systems shall consist of the system name, characteristic code, rated working pressure, rated flow, jet medium code, start-up control component code, targeting detection component code, flameproof code, and user-defined part. The rules for designation are shown in Figure 1.
