1 Scope
This Standard specifies terms, performance indexes and recommended testing method of fracturing proppants. This Standard is applicable to the selection, application of proppants for fracturing operation of oil and gas, and the performance evaluation testing of relevant fracturing proppants.
2 Normative References
The following normative documents contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this Standard. For dated references, subsequent amendments to, or revisions of, any of these publications do not apply. However, parties to agreements based on this Standard are encouraged to investigate the possibility of applying the most recent editions of the normative documents indicated below. For undated references, the latest edition of the normative document referred to applies.

3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this Standard, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
Silica proppant
Solid particles matters with high-strength and used for the support of fracturing operation, also referred to as fracturing proppant. Native silica sand and artificial sintered bauxite ceramsite may be served as fracturing proppant.
3.2
Sphericity
Particle sphericity is a measure of how closely a sand particle or grain approaches the shape of a sphere.
