1 Scope
This standard specifies two methods for determining total sulfur in coke sample.
Method A of this standard is applicable to coke.
Method B of this standard is applicable to coke and coal.

3 Samples
3.1 Test sample
Test sample meets the requirements for analysis sample in GB/T 1997 Sampling and Preparation of Samples and GB/T 2001 Determination of Proximate Analysis.
3.2 Standard sample
National-level standard sample or the sample equivalent to national-level sample and accompanied with certificate.
4 Method A Coulometric Titration
4.1 Method summary
Under the action of high temperature (not less than 1,150℃) and catalyst, samples are decomposed by combustion in purified air flow. Generated sulfur dioxide is absorbed by potassium iodide solution, and titrated by the iodide generated by electrolyzing potassium iodide solution. The electricity consumed in electrolyzing for generating iodide is integrated by coulomb integrator to calculate sulfur content in coke.
