1 Scope
This code specifies the requirements for the design for water & wastewater in petrochemical engineering;
This code defines the terms for the design for water & wastewater in petrochemical engineering;
This code is applicable to the design for water & wastewater of new project and the design for extended and renovated project may refer to this code.
2 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this code, the following terms and definitions apply.
2.1
Process water
Water supplied by water source or water treatment plant and directly used for production process.
2.2
Reuse water
Water used and recovered for reuse.
2.3
Series use
The use when one system is used up, it is directly connected into the next system.
2.4
Non-polluted wastewater
Wastewater not polluted or lightly polluted and with slight water temperature rise, meeting the emission standard without treatment.
2.5
Polluted industrial wastewater
Industrial wastewater polluted by production process.
2.6
Domestic sewage
General term of domestic sewage and domestic wastewater.
2.7
Plant capacity
Annual plant treatment or production capacity determined through material balance according to design specification.
2.8
Design water consumption of maximum daily
Water consumption of maximum daily all year around.
2.9
Design water consumption of maximum hourly
Water consumption of maximum hourly in maximum daily water consumption (i.e. design hourly water consumption).
2.10
High pressure firefighting steadily
High pressure firefighting adopting stabilized pressure facilities to maintain high pressure firefighting water pipe network pressure at ordinary times and relying on pressure variation at fire hazard to automatically start fire pump so as to meet water consumption.
2.11
Design hourly discharge of continue sewage
Water quantity discharged continuously by drainage system every hour, determined according to plant or device (unit) design capacity.
2.12
Design hourly discharge of intermittent sewage
Intermittent water discharge of drainage system, determined according to plant or device (unit) design capacity, hourly water discharge of maximum group converted according to duration.
2.13
Unforeseen demand
Supply (drainage) water quantity unforeseen in design but possible in physical production process.
2.14
Water consumption for each unit
Water consumption of specific water equipment in device (unit).
2.15
Hazardous substances
Substances influencing biochemical sewage treatment, such as oil, sulfur, cyanogen, ammonia and heavy metal.
3 Water Supply
3.1 General Requirements
3.1.1 Production water shall adopt more circulating cooling water and little process water, and shall adopt series use and reuse.
3.1.2 When sea water is adopted as cooling water and firefighting water, the measures for preventing sea water corrosion for equipment and pipeline, preventing aquatic life reproduction in equipment and pipeline, and preventing marine pollution, etc. shall be taken.
3.1.3 The classification of plant water supply system shall be comprehensively determined in accordance with the requirements of the user for water quality, water pressure and water temperature and in combination with water source characteristics.
