This document specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules as well as marking, packaging, transportation and storage of the safety belt strap.
This document is applicable to the design, development, production, testing and acceptance of straps used for automobile safety belts.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
strap
flexible component designed to hold the occupant’s body and to transmit stresses to the belt anchorages
3.2
diagonal belt
strap which passes diagonally across the front of the chest from the hip to the opposite shoulder
3.3
lap belt
strap which passes across the front of the wearer’s pelvic region
3.4
continuous belt
strap with the diagonal belt and the lap belt integrated in one piece
4 Technical requirements
4.1 General requirements
4.1.1 The safety belt strap shall meet the requirements of this document, and shall be manufactured according to the product drawings approved through specified procedures.
4.1.2 The specifications of strap thickness shall be agreed upon by the supplier and purchaser.
4.1.3 The strap width shall not be less than 46mm when tested in accordance with 5.2.
4.2 Performance requirements
4.2.1 Tensile load
When the strap is tested in accordance with 5.1.2, the tensile loads of the two specimens shall not be less than those specified in Table 1. The difference between the tensile loads of two specimens shall not exceed 10% of the measured tensile load, whichever is greater.
