1 Scope
This standard specifies the performance test methods of petrol filter assembly for automobiles (hereinafter referred to as filter) to make the laboratory performance test results comparable.
This standard is applicable to the filter with the rated volume flow below 3.5L/min (210L/h) of petrol engine for automobiles.

3 Terms and Definitions
3.1
rated volume flow
nominal volume flow of filter specified by the user or the manufacturer to match a certain kind of petrol engine under specified test conditions, expressed in L/min.
3.2
initial restriction
pressure drop of filter equipped with new filter element at rated volume flow, expressed in kPa.
3.3
pressure drop
difference in static pressure measured at specified pressure measurement points on upstream and downstream of filter where the test is carried out by the established procedures, expressed in kPa.
