1 Scope
This standard specifies the product classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules and marking, packaging, transportation, storage and quality guarantee period of sorbitol solution for toothpaste.
This standard is applicable to the sorbitol solution refined and produced via hydrogenation reaction with liquid glucose as the raw material and under the action of catalyst, and sorbitol solution is used as humectant in toothpaste industry.

3 Product Classification
D-sorbitol is also known as sorbitol (hereinafter referred to as "sorbitol"), low crystal sorbitol and crystal sorbitol are generally used in toothpaste industry and they both are useable; thereinto low crystal sorbitol has low content, relatively high total sugar and relatively strong freezing resistance; crystal sorbitol has relatively high content, relatively low total sugar and poor freezing resistance.
