1 Scope
This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules as well as marking, packaging, transportation and storage of ethylene carbonate for industrial use.
This standard is applicable to ethylene carbonate for industrial use produced from ethylene oxide and carbon dioxide.

3 Product classification
Ethylene carbonate for industrial use is classified into electronic grade and industrial grade according to its application. In electronic grade, the extra-pure grade is mainly used in power battery industry, and the qualified grade is mainly used as the cleaning agent for ordinary lithium ion batteries and electronic products. In industrial grade, the high-purity grade and guaranteed grade are mainly used as raw materials for high-end polyester synthesis and high-end organic synthesis, and the qualified grade is mainly used as solvent, grease additive, raw materials for common organic synthesis, etc.
