This standard replaces HG/T 3679-2000 Ruthenium trichloride for dimensionally stable anode coating in electrolyzer.
The following main technical changes have been made with respect to HG/T 3679-2000:
——The normative references are adjusted (GB/T 619 and GB/T 1250 in Edition 2000 are adjusted into HG/T 3921 and GB/T 8170 in this edition);
——The inspection rules are rewritten (in Edition 2000, such rules are not listed as a subclause; in this edition, inspection rules are written as sampling, product inspection and judgment rules, etc., the sampling method is modified, and the specific items are specified in the quality certificate).
This standard was proposed by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association.
This standard is under the jurisdiction of Subcommittee on Chlor Alkali of National Technical Committee on Chemical of Standardization Administration of China.
The previous edition of this standard is as follows:
——HG/T 3679-2000.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this standard may be the subject of patent rights. The issuer of this standard shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
Ruthenium trichloride for dimensionally stable anode coating in electrolyzer
1 Scope
This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking, storage and safety of ruthenium trichloride products for dimensionally stable anode coating in electrolyzer.
This standard is applicable to ruthenium trichloride solid and aqueous hydrochloric acid solution prepared by sodium hypochlorite method with ruthenium powder or ruthenium compound as the main raw material and used for the dimensionally stable anode coating.
Molecular formula: RuCl3·nH2O
Relative molecular mass: 207.43 (according to international relative atomic mass in 2007)

3 Product classification
According to the product form, ruthenium trichloride is classified into solid ruthenium trichloride and liquid ruthenium trichloride (ruthenium trichloride aqueous hydrochloric acid solution).
4 Appearance and properties
4.1 Solid ruthenium trichloride shall be β-crystal particles with certain luster, of which the color varies with different water content and process and is generally grayish brown or dark red, and which are easily deliquescent, soluble in water and alcohol and decomposed in hot water.
4.2 Liquid ruthenium trichloride is reddish brown, strongly acid, and soluble with water and alcohol.
5 Requirements
Ruthenium trichloride for dimensionally stable anode coating in electrolyzer shall meet those specified in Tables 1 and 2. In case of exceeding the scope or using recycled ruthenium and compounds as raw materials, the addition of impurity elements or other requirements, if necessary, may be agreed by the supplier and the demander and indicated in the contract.
