1 Scope
This standard specifies the test method of activity for oxidizing sulphuric dioxide into sulphuric acid catalyst.
This standard is applicable to the catalyst oxidizing sulphuric dioxide into sulphuric acid for oxidizing sulphuric dioxide to sulfur trioxide in the process of sulphuric acid production using the contact process.

3 Principle
sulphuric dioxide and oxygen in the air can be oxidized to sulfuric acid with the catalyst oxidizing sulphuric dioxide into sulphuric acid. The volume fraction of sulphuric dioxide in the gas before and after the reaction can be determined by the absorption amount of iodine standard titration solution, and the conversion rate of sulphuric dioxide can be calculated to characterize the activity of catalyst.
