1.1 General
The FRP chemical equipment (or glass fiber-reinforced plastic chemical equipment) mentioned in this Specification refers to the composite FRP chemical equipment with integral anti-corrosion, which adopts thermosetting resin as its matrix materials and glass fiber as its reinforcement material.
1.2 Application scope
This Specification is applicable to the non-movable FRP chemical equipment with integral anti-corrosion which is manufactured by mechanical winding process.
1.3 Non-applicable scope
Equipment which is heated with direct flame;
Equipment for holding extremely hazardous medium;
Equipment for heat conduction (e.g. jacketed reaction kettle);
Special chemical equipment (e.g. tanker, electrostatic precipitators).
1.4 Design Pressure
The design pressure specified in this Specification is not greater than 0.6 MPa, and the external design pressure is not greater than 0.1 MPa.
The vacuum equipment shall be designed in accordance with the vessel subjected to external pressure and its design pressure is 0.1 MPa.
1.5 Design Temperature
The design temperature scope specified in this Specification is generally:
Universal unsaturated polyester FRP -40~+60℃
Bisphenol-A type unsaturated polyester FRP -40~+100℃
Vinyl ester unsaturated polyester FRP -40~+120℃
Epoxy FRP -40~+90℃
The anti-corrosion and thermal endurance of various types and brands of resins are different. Therefore, corresponding resin, accessory ingredient and glass fiber shall be selected and reasonable construction process shall be developed according to the types and use conditions of corrosive medium in design so as to produce anti-corrosion FRP chemical equipment.
Where the anti-corrosion FRP chemical equipment is used under flammable and explosive conditions, corresponding resin formulation and process shall be selected carefully and reasonably. The small sample shall be produced to inspect the relevant indexes and formal production only starts after their qualification.
