1.0.1 This standard is formulated in order to define the earthquake protection category of buildings and structures for chemical enterprises during their seismic design, to relieve the earthquake disaster and to make reasonable use of construction funds.
1.0.2 The earthquake protection criterion of buildings and structures for production equipments in chemical enterprises is formulated based on the principles of the national standard "Standard for Classification of Seismic Protection of Buildings" (GB 50223-95) and the characteristics of the chemical industry.
1.0.3 This standard is applicable to the earthquake protection classification of single building and structure for chemical production, transport and storage in a region with 6~9 seismic fortification intensity.
1.0.4 The seismic fortification intensity or design parameters of ground motion in construction area shall be determined in accordance with the requirements of relevant national departments.
1.0.5 During the implementation of this standard, it shall also meet the provisions stated in current related national standards.
