1 Scope
This standard specifies Service Information (SI) data for digital television broadcasting. These data are the component parts of the code streams of digital television broadcasting, can help users select the information of services and/or events from the code streams and make the Integrated Receiver Decoder (IRD) be able to automatically set up the optional services. The data of the Service Information automatic setup part mainly are provided by the Program Specific Information (PSI) in GB/T 17975.1-2000.
This standard specifies the additional data for supplementing the PSI so as to assist the IRD autotuning. It also specifies the additional information shown to users. The display mode of such information is not specified in this standard and the IRD manufacturers may select the display mode at discretion.
Electronic Program Guide (EPG) will become a kind of application of the digital television transmission. The data contained in the Service Information specified in this standard may be taken as the basis for Electronic Program Guide.
This standard is applicable to the digital television broadcasting service in radio and television industry.
