1 Scope
This standard specifies the technical requirements and measurement methods of digital cable television system. Any equivalent measurement method that can ensure the same measurement uncertainty may also be used. In case of dispute, this standard shall prevail.
This standard is applicable to the design, construction, acceptance and operation and maintenance of digital cable television system.
2 Normative references

3 Terms and definitions
For the purpose of this standard, the following terms and definitions apply.

modulation error rate
ratio expressed in dB of the square sum of the nominal vector amplitude to the square sum of the error vector amplitude
3.2
pay per view
separately saleable program with a start time and an end time
3.3
electronic print
front-end-controlled terminal identification information (such as smart card number) that may be displayed and turned off on the screen of the user receiving-end and is usually used for anti-piracy traceability, etc.
3.4
token
virtual currency stored in the smart card which may be used by the users for instant consumption at the user terminals
3.5
product
programs or other services sold by operators to customers
3.6
entitle
users' right to use services and the act of granting the users entitlement to use services
3.7
service
a series of programs or data that may be broadcast according to the schedule under the control of the broadcaster
3.8
set top box of CA security module plug-in
plug-in user terminal whose CA decryption function module is solidified on the semiconductor chip of the user terminals itself
3.9
transparent mode
working mode of scrambling service that may be normally received without special entitlement
3.10
regional ban
stop the normal use of one or more services in logically divided areas for which users in the logical area cannot use the service whether they have the entitlement of the service or not when a certain service is set with regional ban.
