1 Scope
This standard specifies basic requirements in aspects such as principles and methods for individual monitoring, dose assessment and quality assurance for external exposure in occupational exposure (hereafter referred to as simply "occupational external exposure").
This standard is applicable to individual monitoring for occupational external exposure on radiation workers.

3 Terminologies and Definitions
For the purpose of this standard, the following terminologies and definitions apply.
3.1 Occupational exposure
It refers to all exposures received by workers during working process except for the excluded exposure by national regulations and standards and exposure exempted by specification generated by practice or source.
3.2 Individual monitoring
It refers to the measurement carried out by utilizing dosimeter worn by workers or measurement of the type and activity of radionuclides in their bodies or excrement as well as the explanation for measuring result.
3.3 Minimum detectable level (MDL)
It refers to a value of statistical quantity used for evaluating detectability in radiation monitoring, referring to, in the specified confidence coefficient, the minimum sample contribution different from zero which is able to be detected (inspected) by a measurement method.
