1 Scope
This standard specifies the general requirements, metrological requirements, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules as well as marking, packaging, transportation and storage requirements for electronic weighing meter (hereinafter referred to as meter), including devices such as weighing indicator (hereinafter referred to as indicator), personal computer (PC) used as indicator, analog data processing device, digital data processing device, terminal and digital display, as module of weighing instrument.
It is applicable to the following devices adopted in non-automatic weighing instruments:
——Weighing indicator;
——Analog data processing devices, such as digital junction box, AD module and digital weight convert device;
——Digital data processing device, e.g. data storage device;
——Terminals, such as PC and point of sale device (POS);
——Digital display, e.g. scoreboard;
In this standard, the term "electronic weighing meter" covers the above-mentioned devices.
This standard is only applicable to the electronic weighing meter of non-automatic weighing instrument.
Note 1: Various devices within the application scope can be provided with their own enclosures or be installed in other devices (e.g. weighing module, PC).
Note 2: In case that various devices within the application scope must be associated with software to meet the requirements of this standard, then this associated software is suitable for this standard no matter whether it has been installed in device.
Note 3: This standard is also applicable to weighing meters of weighing instruments (e.g. weighing principle-based moisture meter, densimeter) which are used to determine and measure other mass related value, quantity, parameter or characteristic.
Note 4: For certain device adopted in non-automatic weighing instrument, it is not required to implement all functions listed in this standard.
Note 5: Some metrological requirements and test methods in this standard are aimed at the weighing meter connected with resistance strain gage load cell of voltage output form; but their principles are also applicable to the weighing meter connected with load cell of other output forms (e.g. frequency amount, charge quantity).
