This standard specifies the design procedures of the following three classes of graphic symbols:
——Public information graphic symbols;
——Graphic symbols for safety signs and product safety labels;
——Graphic symbols for equipments and products.
Above graphic symbols may be used in the documents used by consumers.
This standard is applicable to the design of above graphic symbols related with consumers, but it is not applicable to those graphic symbols for road traffic signs and technical product documents.
Note: The design rule of graphic symbols has already been specified in the relevant national standard and international standard. This standard summarizes the relevant standard information and reference documents, which is helpful for technical committee and designer to comply with "Best Practice" when considering the requirement of new graphic symbols.
