3 Terms, definitions and symbols
3.1 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 13005 and the following apply.
3.1.1
plastic liner
inner plastic housing that is designed to withstand no pressure load and used for sealing the gas, with carbon fiber reinforced layer wrapped outside
3.1.2
seamless plastic liner
unibody plastic liner without splicing weld
3.1.3
welded plastic liner
plastic liner with splicing weld
3.1.4
blister
local defect in polymers that looks like a bubble
3.1.5
nominal working pressure
defined filling pressure of high pressure gaseous hydrogen cylinders at the reference temperature (15℃)
3.2 Symbols
For the purposes of this document, the following symbols apply.
B the thickness of disc specimen, m;
p the nominal working pressure of cylinder, MPa;
Pe the gas permeability coefficient of material, mol•m/(m2•s•Pa);
S the surface area of the specimen exposed to hydrogen during permeability test, m2;
Δp the pressure difference between the high-pressure side and the low-pressure side of the specimen during permeability test, Pa;
the transmission rate of gas at stable permeability, mol/s.
4 General requirements
4.1 Test for evaluating hydrogen compatibility of plastic liner of high pressure gaseous hydrogen cylinders include the plastic liner material test and cylinder liner test. Plastic liner material test includes hydrogen permeability test, physical property test, tensile property test, hydrogen cycling test and hydrogen aging test; cylinder liner test includes permeability test at extreme temperature, liner buckling and blister test. The test flow is shown in Figure 1.
4.2 The overall design, installation & commissioning and use management of the hydrogen compatibility test device shall be carried out in accordance with GB/T 29729 and GB/T 34542.1.
4.3 The hydrogen compatibility test device shall be free from impurities that can interact with the specimen or pollute the test environment.
