Test method for noise of household and similar electrical appliances - Particular requirements for electrically-operated food preparation appliances
1 Scope and object
This clause of GB/T 4214.1-2017 is applicable except as follows:
1.1 Scope
1.1.1 General
Replacement:
This standard applies to electrically-operated food preparation appliances, either in the form of separate machines with a single function or in the form of multi-purpose machines with appropriate tools or attachments for several functions. These machines are intended for placing on counters, tables, work tops or sinks, for wall-mounting, for building-in, or for hand-held use, supplied from mains or from batteries and able to ensure the functions described in Clause 4 of GB/T 37597-2019.
1.1.2 Types of noise
Replacement:
GB/T 6881.3-2002 and GB/T 3767 are applicable to the noise emitted by electrically-operated food preparation appliances.
1.1.3 Size of the source
Replacement:
The method specified in GB/T 3767 is applicable to noise sources of any size. When applying GB/T 6881.3-2002, care should be taken that the maximum size of the electrically-operated food preparation appliances under test fulfills the requirements specified in 1.3 of GB/T 6881.3-2002.
1.2 Object
Addition:
This document describes the procedure for the measurement of noise emitted by electrically-operated food preparation appliances.
For the function defined in clause 20 of GB/T 37597-2019 (coffee milling and grinding), this document is only applicable for comparative tests.
Requirements for the declaration of noise emission values are not within the scope of this document.
Note: For determining and verifying noise emission values declared in product specifications, see IEC 60704-3.
1.3 Measurement uncertainty
Replacement:
See Table 101 for the estimated values of standard deviations of sound power levels determined according to this document.

Standard deviation/dB
σr (repeatability) σR (reproducibility)
0.5 1.0
1.101 Standard deviation for declaration and verification
Values specified in Table 102 shall apply for the purpose of determining and verifying declared noise emission values according to IEC 60704-3.

2 Normative references
The following documents contain requirements which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this document. For dated references, only the edition cited applies. For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced document (including any amendments) applies.
This clause of GB/T 4214.1-2017 is applicable except as follows:
Not applicable:
GB/T 6881.2 Acoustics - Determination of sound power levels and sound energy levels of noise sources using sound pressure - Engineering methods for small movable sources in reverberant fields - Part -1: Comparison method for a hard-walled test room (GB/T 6881.2-2017, ISO 3743-1: 2010, IDT)
Addition:
GB/T 37597-2019 Electrically operated food preparation appliances - Methods for measuring the performance (IEC 60619: 1993, IDT)
3 Terms and definitions
This clause of GB/T 4214.1-2017 is applicable except as follows:
Addition:
3.101
standard container
a container with sides of 500 mm ± 10 mm and a height of 200 mm ± 10 mm, the structure being rigid enough to avoid structure-borne noise
3.102
standard test loads for noise measurement
for the function defined in 3.1.7 of GB/T 37597-2019 (blending/pureeing), the standard test load is water at the ambient temperature t = 20°C±5°C, filling the standard container with a depth of 150 mm ± 5 mm
for the function defined in 3.1.14 of GB/T 37597-2019 (citrus juice extraction), the standard test load is a force of N exerted on the cone without, if possible, any perturbation of the rotating speed of the appliance and of the acoustical field
Note: An example of adequate load is shown in Figure 102.
for the function defined in 3.1.15 of GB/T 37597-2019 (coffee milling and grinding), this method is only applicable for comparative tests; in this case, the standard test load is roasted beans of coffee available on the national market, preconditioned for 24h in the test room, with the climatic conditions given in 6.3
4 Measurement methods and acoustic environments
This clause of GB/T 4214.1-2017 is applicable except as follows:
4.2 Direct method
Addition:
Note: The estimate of the standard deviation of the sound pressure level measured in the dedicated reverberation chamber may increase if there is a pure tone component in the noise emitted by the sound source. In this case, according to GB/T 6881.3-2002, it may be necessary to add additional microphone positions or sound source positions.
4.3 Comparison method
Amendment:
The comparison method described in GB/T 6881.2 is not applicable.
Note: Measurement according to GB/T 6881.2 is under consideration.
