Household and Similar Drinking Water Purifier Performance Test Method
1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions and test methods of household and similar drinking water purifier (hereinafter referred to as "water purifier").
This standard is applicable to the performance test of household and similar drinking water purifier.

3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
average influent challenge level
the average concentration of certain substance led into water supply system during purification test
3.2
contaminant liquid
the solution with specific concentration and containing one or several contaminant(s) during purification test
3.3
purification efficiency
the ratio of purified volume by water purifier to contaminant liquid volume during purification test, expressed in %
3.4
concentrated water
the general term for raw water treated by water purifier used for purposes other than domestic drinking water
4 Test Method
4.1 Test Conditions and Equipment
4.1.1 General test conditions
Unless otherwise specified, the test shall be carried out under the following conditions:
a) Ambient temperature: (25±5)℃;
b) Test water temperature: (25±1)℃;
c) Inlet pressure: (0.24±0.02)MPa;
d) Relative humidity: 45%~75%;
e) Water hardness: <450mg/L;
f) The nominal value of power supply voltage provided by the manufacturer shall be adopted;
g) Test shall be carried out in the laboratory with adjustable temperature and free of external hot air flow and thermal radiation action;
h) Water purifier is installed according to the relevant requirements of operation instructions provided by the manufacturer for washing or regeneration of water purifying unit.
4.1.2 Inflow water quality used for test
4.1.2.1 Water purifier:
The water quality of water purifier shall meet the following conditions:
——pH: 7.5±0.5;
——turbidity: <1.0NTU;
——total dissolved solids (TDS): (200~500)mg/L;
——TOC: ≤1.0mg/L.
4.1.2.2 Water softener:
The water quality of water softener shall meet the following conditions:
——hardness: (342±34.2)mg/L(calculated in CaCO3);
——iron: <0.1mg/L;
——pH: 7.5±0.5;
——TDS: (350~500)mg/L;
——turbidity: <1.0NTU;
——sodium: ≤85.5mg/L.
4.1.2.3 Others:
Complying with the municipal tap water requirements in GB 5749 or other centralized water supply requirements.
4.1.3 Main measuring instruments and their requirements:

4.2 Visual Inspection
4.2.1 Test conditions
Test conditions for visual inspection shall meet the following requirements:
a) Ambient temperature: (25±5)℃;
b) Relative humidity: 45%~75%;
c) Lighting conditions: 1000lux-1500lux;
d) The uncorrected (corrected) visual acuity of inspection personnel is above 4.5;
e) The inspection surface forms a 45° angle with human eyes;
f) Test distance: 0.5m-0.8m.
4.2.2 Test items
Test items shall cover the following aspects:
a) Inspect the appearance of water purifier;
b) Inspect the surface of exposed structural parts of water purifier;
c) Inspect the coating surface of water purifier;
d) Inspect the decorative coating of electroplated parts and the surface of plastic parts.
4.3 Structural Performance Test
4.3.1 Test instruments
See Figure 1 for devices of circulating pressure test and hydrostatic pressure test. The structural performance test shall be carried out in enclosed and isolated environment to avoid personnel injury or property damage during the test.
