Safety Technical Requirements for Hydrogen Storage Devices Used in Hydrogen Fuelling Station
1 Scope
This standard specifies the safety technical requirements for gaseous hydrogen storage devices used in hydrogen fuelling station (hereinafter referred to as “hydrogen storage devices”).
This standard is applicable to the fixed storage devices for high-pressure hydrogen and seamless tubes for storage of high-pressure hydrogen used in hydrogen fuelling station with the design pressure is not more than 100 MPa, the working temperature is not less than -40°C and not more than 60°C, and filled with high pressure hydrogen.

3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 24499 and the following apply.
3.1
hydrogen storage device
device used in hydrogen fuelling station and installed at fixed position for filling high-pressure gaseous hydrogen, includes storage device for high-pressure hydrogen and seamless tube for storage of high-pressure hydrogen
3.2
seamless tube for storage of high-pressure hydrogen
device, consists of a single or multiple seamless steel tube storage cylinders, tubes, valves and fittings, installed at fixed position for filling high-pressure gaseous hydrogen
3.3
storage device for high-pressure hydrogen
device, consists of a single or multiple gas storage tanks, tubes, valves and fittings, installed at fixed position for filling high-pressure gaseous hydrogen
3.4
working pressure
maximum pressure (gauge pressure) of gaseous hydrogen that can be reached in hydrogen storage device under normal working conditions
3.5
vent pipe
pipe in hydrogen storage device for discharging gaseous hydrogen directly into the atmosphere
3.6
design pressure
preset maximum pressure of hydrogen storage device, which shall be taken, together with the corresponding design temperature, as the basic design load conditions of hydrogen storage device. Design pressure shall not be lower than working pressure
4 Safety Technical Requirements
4.1 General requirements
4.1.1 The quality of hydrogen filled into hydrogen storage devices shall comply with the relevant standards and the requirements of design document.
4.1.2 The pipeline connecting with hydrogen storage devices shall comply with the corresponding specifications, standards and design documents.
4.1.3 Hydrogen storage devices shall minimize the number of joints or other potential danger points that may cause leakage.
4.1.4 The hydrogen storage capacity of hydrogen storage devices shall comply with the requirements of design pressure, hydrogen supply mode, hydrogen supply pressure, hydrogen filling pressure, hydrogen filling amount and balanced and continuous gas supply. The design pressure of hydrogen storage devices shall be set according to Level 2 or Level 3.
4.1.5 When hydrogen storage devices with different design pressures are connected to each other, pressure relief devices should be set up to ensure that hydrogen storage devices with lower design pressures do not overpressure.
4.1.6 The materials of parts and components in direct contact with hydrogen in hydrogen storage devices shall be proved to have good compatibility with hydrogen.
4.1.7 The influence of hydrogen brittleness shall be considered in the design and selection of pipelines, valves, pressure gauges and bursting discs for hydrogen storage devices.
4.1.8 The installation area of hydrogen storage devices shall be well ventilated and equipped with fire fighting facilities and hydrogen leakage alarm facilities.
