3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this standard, the terms and definitions established in GB/T 8129-1997 and the following ones apply.
3.1
Numerical control system
A control system using numerical data, which continuously introduces numerical data to in operation process, thereby realizing the automatic control of machining process.
The basic composition of numerical control system covers NC device and driving device. Therein, the driving device covers complete driving unit and motor.
3.2
NC device
NC device is the control part of numerical control system and generally consists of the circuits of such hardware as microprocessor, memory, positioner, input/output, display, keyboard and operating switch as well as relevant control software.
3.3
Driving device
The driving device of numerical control system consists of complete driving unit and corresponding motor.
Above classification is detailed in Figure 1 Schematic Diagram of Typical Composition and Port/Interface of Numerical Control System.
3.4
Electric cabinet, enclosure and build-in enclosure
Electric cabinet and enclosure are circuit and component for installing numerical control system as well as shell for preventing external influence and operating personnel electric shock. Generally, the cabinet is relatively large volume with cabinet door; the enclosure with relatively small with a cover. Build-in enclosure refers to the enclosure installed in electric cabinet or other enclosure.
Note: For the control device of numerical control system made into build-in enclosure, the operation panel part is accessible to operating personnel in general, but the rest parts are installed in electric cabinet or other enclosure.
