This part of GB/T 26218 is applicable to the selection of ceramic and glass insulators for a.c. systems, and the determination of their relevant dimensions, to be used under polluted conditions. This part gives specific guidelines and principles to arrive at an informed judgment on the probable behavior of a given insulator in certain pollution environments.
For the purposes of this part, GB/T 26218.1 applies. The basis for the structure and approach of this part is fully explained in GB/T 26218.1.
