1 Scope
This standard specifies requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, storage and preservation of parking distance monitoring and warning device for motorvehicle (hereinafter referred to as distance monitoring & warning device).
The distance monitoring & warning device cannot replace a driver to park automatically and is not a device sending alarm to personnel or things in the parking area. The device is regarded as an additional aid to the vehicle driver when parking, but it does not relieve the driver of his special responsibility when parking.
This standard is applicable to motorvehicles of Categories M and N.
Note: The functional requirements of this standard are specified based on the use of ultrasonic sensor technology. With the development of other sensor technologies, the possibility of modifying the functional requirements cannot be excluded.
