1 Scope
This standard is applicable to the 6kV or above rotating machinery equipped with bar or formed coil with coating at the slot part and the measurement method of this standard is also applicable to the machinery without coating at slot part, but different test results will be available which will not be involved in this standard.
This standard defines terms of partial discharge of rotating machinery, recommended test procedures and general requirements for the instruments, test methods, test results and evaluation criteria for the test. The partial discharge measurement shall cover:
a) Measuring system and instruments;
b) Arrangement of test circuits;
c) Standardization of test procedure;
d) Noise reduction;
e) Test result archives;
f) Test result evaluation.
This standard mainly specifies the electric measurement method using a 0.1Hz~400Hz a.c. power supply to make an off-line partial discharge measurement for stator winding of rotating machinery.
