1 Scope
This standard specifies the definition, symbols and abbreviations, material, product classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, and marking, packaging, transportation and storage of polypropylene pipes with circular cross section made of polypropylene pipes material through extrusion molding (hereinafter referred to as pipes).
This standard along with GB/T 18742.1 Polypropylene Piping Systems for Hot and Cold Water Installation - Part 1: General and GB/T 18742.3 Polypropylene Piping Systems for Hot and Cold Water Installation - Part 3: Fittings is applicable to pipes used in piping systems for hot and cold water installation within structures, including industry and civil cold and hot water, drinking water and heating system.
This standard is not applicable to fire extinguishing system and pipes for systems not using water as medium.
