This document is developed in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2020 Directives for standardization - Part 1: Rules for the structure and drafting of standardizing documents.
This document replaces GB/T 13082-1991 Determination of cadmium in feeds. In addition to structural adjustments and editorial changes, the following main technical changes have been made with respect to GB/T 13082-1991:
a) the application scope is modified, and the limit of detection and limit of quantitation for graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry and flame atomic absorption spectrometry are added (see Clause 1; Clause 1 of Edition 1991);
b) the principle is modified (see Clause 4; Clause 2 of Edition 1991);
c) the preparation method of test sample solution is added (see 8.1.2 and 8.1.3);
d) the test data processing for atomic absorption spectrometry is modified (see 9.1 and 9.2; 7.1 of Edition 1991);
e) the expression of precision is modified (see 10.1 and 10.2; 7.3 of Edition 1991).
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent rights. The issuing body of this document shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.

Determination of cadmium in feeds
1 Scope
This document describes flame atomic absorption spectrometry and graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry for the determination of cadmium in feeds.
This document is applicable to the determination of cadmium in formula feed, concentrate, concentrate supplement, additive premix, feed additives and feedstuffs.
In this document, if the sample weight is 5g and the constant volume is 50mL, the limit of detection and limit of quantitation for flame atomic absorption spectrometry are 0.08mg/kg and 0.20mg/kg respectively. If the sample weight is 0.5g and the constant volume is 25mL, the limit of detection and limit of quantitation for graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry are 0.002mg/kg and 0.05mg/kg respectively.

No terms and definitions apply for the purposes of this document.
4 Principle
After dry ashing or wet digestion (microwave digestion) or hydrochloric acid dissolution, the test sample is introduced into flame or graphite furnace atomizer of atomic absorption spectrophotometer, and the absorbance value is determined at a wavelength of 228.8nm. In a certain concentration range, the concentration of cadmium is proportional to its absorbance value, and is calibrated and quantified according to the standard curve.
