GB 43854-2024 Safety technical specification of lithium-ion battery for electric bicycle
1 Scope
This document specifies the electrical, mechanical and environmental safety requirements for lithium-ion cells and batteries for electric bicycles, and describes the corresponding test methods.
This document is applicable to lithium-ion cells and batteries for electric bicycles (hereinafter referred to as cells and batteries) specified in GB 17761.

3 Terms and definitions

rated capacity
value of the capacity of a cell or battery measured under specified conditions and rated by the manufacturer

cell
basic unit device that directly converts chemical energy into electrical energy
Note: Including electrodes, electrolyte, housing and terminals, and designed to be rechargeable.

thermal runaway

For the purposes of this document, the following symbols apply.
C2: Rated capacity at 2-hour rate (Ah)
I2: Discharge current at 2-hour rate, which equals to 0.5C2 (A)

After tested with the method specified in 6.3.1, the cell shall not catch fire or explode.
