This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage for food additive - sodium benzoate.
This standard is applicable to food additive - sodium benzoate which is produced by reaction of benzoic acid, subjected to catalytic oxidation by petroleum toluene, with sodium hydroxide or sodium bicarbonate produced by ion exchange membrane method. It is mainly used as food preservative.
