1 Scope
This criterion specifies the basic requirements for radiation zoning design inside of the PWR nuclear power plant.
This criterion is applicable to the radiation zoning design inside of the PWR nuclear power plant.
2 Normative References
The following standards contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this standard. For dated reference, subsequent amendments to (excluding correction to), or revisions of, any of these publications do not apply. However, the parties to agreements based on this standard are encouraged to investigate the possibility of applying the most recent editions of the standards. For undated references, the latest edition of the normative document referred to applies.

3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions are adopted in this standard.
3.1
Normal operation
Normal operation refers to the operation of nuclear power plant within the specified operation limits and conditions, including reactor shutdown state, power operation, reactor shutdown process, start, maintenance, test, and refueling.
3.2
Anticipated operational occurrences
They refer to various operational processes that are anticipated to deviate normal operation one or several times within the operational service life of nuclear power plant, which will not cause severe damage of items important to safety and result in accident conditions, as corresponding measures are adopted in the design.
3.3
Operational states
They are the general terms of normal operations and anticipated operational occurrences.
3.4
Accident conditions
They refer to the accidents appeared by deviating operational states. Under the accident conditions, release of radioactive substances may be restricted within acceptable limit by properly-designed facilities; severe accidents are not included.
3.5
Design basis accident
They refer to the accident conditions for which corresponding measures are adopted in the nuclear power plant design according to the determined design criteria.
3.6
Severe accident
It refers to the nuclear power plant state whose severity is greater than the accident condition, including the state causing serious damage of reactor core.
3.7
Accident states
They are the general terms of accident conditions and severe accidents.
3.8
Vital areas
They refer to the areas must be accessed or stayed by the operating personnel and emergency response personnel in order to effectively control the accidents and restore the nuclear power plant to safety conditions.
