This Standard specifies classification and marking, requirements, test methods, test rules, marking and packaging and storage of ceramic welding backing (hereinafter referred to as “backing”).
This Standard is applicable to the design, manufacturing and acceptance of ceramic welding backing used for the forming of carbon steel, structural steel, stainless steel, aluminum alloy and copper alloy in shielded metal arc welding, gas shielded welding, perpendicular electrogas welding, submerged arc welding, self-shielded welding etc. single side welding two side forming and structural steel welding end forming.
