1 Scope
This standard specifies the technical requirements and testing methods for general function of mobile telecommunication terminal (hereinafter referred to as “mobile terminal”) in the one-card one-standby, multi-card one-standby, one-card multi-standby and multi-card multi-standby.
This standard applies to GSM (GPRS), WCDMA, TD-SCDMA, cdma2000, cdma2000HRPD and other systems as well as their combined mobile terminals. It may be used as reference for other systems of wireless terminals.

For the purposes of this standard, the following terms and definitions apply.

Subscriber Identity Module
a general term for SM card, USIM card, and R-UM card
3.1.2
Multi-Mode
supporting multiple modes in GSM (GPRS), WCDMA, TD-SCDMA, cdma2000, cdma2000HRPD and other systems

Multi-Standby
supporting the same or different wireless access technologies to stand by at the same time

Multi-Path
supporting the same or different wireless access technologies to communicate at the same time.

4 General
According to the number of its standby networks and the number of its supported card slots, the mobile terminal can be classified into one-card one-standby, one-card multi-standby, multi-card one-standby and multi-card multi-standby ones.
The one-card one-standby mobile terminal shall comply with the requirements of 5.1.1 and 6.1.1;
The one-card multi-standby mobile terminal shall comply with the requirements of 5.1.1 and 6.1.1; in case of one-card multi-standby, the mobile terminal shall comply with the requirements of 5.2.1 and 6.2.1;
The multi-card one-standby mobile terminal shall comply with the requirements of 5.1.1 and 6.1.1; in case of multi-card one-standby, the mobile terminal shall comply with the requirements of 5.1.2 and 6.1.2;
The multi-card multi-standby mobile terminal shall comply with the requirements of 5.1.1 and 6.1.1; in case of multi-card one-standby, it shall comply with the requirements of 5.1.2 and 6.1.2; in case of multi-card multi-standby, the mobile terminal shall comply with the requirements of 5.2.2 and 6.2.2.
See Annex A for the requirements on mandatory and optional functions for various types of mobile terminals.
For non-UIM mobile terminal, the information of the Subscriber Identity Module shall be stored in the mobile terminal, and the contracting identification subscriber in the mobile terminal is equivalent to that on the Subscriber Identity Module.
