1 Scope
This standard specifies the illuminance and measurement in port handling area.
This standard is applicable to the locations such as terminals of ports, storage yards, warehouses, roads and the places for ship operations, operations in anchorage area, overside work, ships driving in (off) the shore and passengers getting on (off) board.
2 Terms and Definitions
For the purpose of this standard, the following terms and definitions apply.
2.1
Average illuminance (Eav)
It refers to the average value of illuminance on the specified surface.
2.2
General lighting
It refers to the lighting arranged to illuminate the whole site regardless of the requirement for special area.
2.3
Mixed lighting
It refers to the combination of the general lighting and the lighting built in mechanical equipments during the operation. The illuminance value hereby is refers to the local illuminance value on the handling working face.
2.4
Uniformity ratio of illuminance
It refers to the ratio of the minimum illuminance to the average illuminance.
2.5
Main arterial highway
It refers to the main road with large amount of traffic flow connected to the urban arterial highway and the port area.
2.6
Sub-arterial highway
It refers to the port area road with relatively high flow of transport machineries and handling machineries; the port area road crossing the railway; the specified road leading the passengers to get on and off the board, and other service roads.
3 Technical Requirements
3.1 The port handling area illuminance value shall be in accordance with those specified in Table 1. And the uniformity is detailed in Appendix A.
