1 Application scope
1.0.1 This specification is applicable to domed metallic bursting discs and bursting disc devices to protect pressure vessels, pipelines or other closed spaces of petrochemical industry and chemical plant installations from overpressure. The maximum bursting pressure of bursting disc is not greater than 35MPa.
2 Terms
2.0.1
bursting disc device
pressure relief safety device that is composed of such assemblies as bursting disc (or bursting disc assemblies) and holder or supporting ring. The bursting disc will act (rupture or slipping) immediately and then discharge the pressure medium when the pressure difference between both sides of the bursting disc reaches the preset value of the preset temperature
2.0.2
bursting disc
pressure sensitive element in the bursting disc device, which can act quickly due to overpressure and is used to seal the pressure and control the bursting pressure
2.0.3
bursting disc assembly (also called combined bursting disc)
bursting disc composed of two or more parts such as pressure sensitive element, back pressure support, stiffening ring and protective lining
2.0.4
conventional domed bursting disc
bursting disc with the pressure sensitive element of the conventional domed structure, for which the concave surface of the dome is at the high pressure side of the pressure system during installation. It will break in tension during action
2.0.4.1
conventional domed bursting disc: simple domed
conventional domed bursting disc whose pressure sensitive element needs no other processing, formed from raw disc directly
2.0.4.2
conventional domed bursting disc: slotted lined
bursting disc with the pressure sensitive element of conventional domed structure and composed of domed disc with seam (hole) and sealing lining
