1 Scope
This Part of GB/T 7113 gives the requirements for three types of E-type glass sleeving using either braided or knitted construction, with a continuous silicone elastomer coating and differentiated by their breakdown voltage (GB/T 7113.5-400: high breakdown voltage; GB/T 7113.5-401: medium breakdown voltage; GB/T 7113.5-402: low breakdown voltage). These sleevings have been found suitable for temperatures up to 180 °C.
These sleevings are normally available in internal diameters between 0.30 mm and 25.00 mm. The sleeving is normally supplied in the following colours: black, grey, white, red, yellow, blue, brown, green, green/yellow and natural.
Sizes or colours other than those specifically listed in this standard may be available as custom items. These items shall be considered to comply with this part if they comply with the property requirements listed in Tables 2 and 5.
Materials which conform to this part meet established levels of performance. However, the selection of a material by a user for a specific application should be based on the actual requirements necessary for adequate performance in that application and not based on this specification alone.
