1 Scope
This document describes the liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) method for the determination of the content of glyphosate and its salts in textiles.
This document is applicable to all kinds of textiles.

4 Principle
The glyphosate and its salts in the specimen are ultrasonically extracted with water, derivatized with fluorenylmethyl chloroformate (FMOC-CI), and then determined by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) and quantified by internal standard method. Finally, the contents of glyphosate and (aminomethyl) phosphonic acid (the main metabolite) are obtained.
Note: Glyphosate and its salts mainly include glyphosate (CAS No.: 1071-83-6), isopropylammonium salt (CAS No.: 38641-94-0), potassium salt (CAS No.: 70901-12-1), ammonium salt (CAS No.: 40465-66-5), etc. The glyphosate and its salts are extremely soluble in water, their functional substances are glyphosate, and their main metabolites are (aminomethyl) phosphonic acid (AMPA, CAS No.: 1066-51-9). The content of glyphosate and its salts is actually to determine the glyphosate and AMPA (the main metabolite).
