1 Scope
This document describes the method for identification of naturally colored cottons (including natural brown cottons and natural green cottons) by chemical staining method.
This document is applicable to naturally colored cottons and their mono-fiber products, and blended or interwoven products of naturally colored cottons and uncolored fibers.

4 Principle
The specimen is moistened by drops of color reagents under specified conditions, the specific polyphenol pigments contained in the naturally colored cottons in the specimen will react chemically with the color reagents and change the color of the specimen, the presence of naturally colored cottons is then judged by observing the color change of the specimen.
