Test method and evaluation for flushability of disposable sanitary nonwoven materials
1 Scope
This standard specifies the test method and evaluation for flushability of disposable sanitary nonwovens, including eight test and evaluation methods, including wet breaking strength pre-test, toilet and drain-line clearance test, slosh box disintegration test, household pump test, settling test, aerobic biodisintegration/biodegradation tests, anaerobic biodisintegration/biodegradationtests and municipal sewage pump test.
This standard is applicable to disposable sanitary nonwovens that can be disintegrated and degraded directly into toilets, including dry/wet wipes for infants, dry/wet wipes for women's care, dry/wet wipes for toilets, etc.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
flushability
performance of the product that can maintain the smoothness of the toilet and drain-line system under expected usage conditions, be compatible with existing sewage transportation, treatment, reuse, and disposal systems, make waste unrecognizable in a reasonable time, and have disintegrating and degradation ability
3.2
simulated fecal material; SFM
material used to simulate human feces in flushability tests
3.3
total suspended solids; TSS
total suspended solids in untreated sewage or activated sludge
3.4
total solids; TS
total solid mass left by evaporation of anaerobic digested sludge to dryness, which is the sum of dissolved solids and insoluble solids in anaerobic sludge
