3 Product classification
Sanitary absorbent pants for women are classified into different sizes such as (S), medium (M), large (L) and extra large (XL).
4 Requirements
4.1 The technical indexes of sanitary absorbent pants for women shall be in accordance with those specified in Table 1.
Table 1
Index name Unit Index
Absorption rate s ≤60
pH - 4.0~9.0
Formaldehyde content a mg/kg ≤75.0
Migratable fluorescent substance a - N/A
Delivery moisture b % ≤10.0
a Formaldehyde content and migratable fluorescent substance are taken as type inspection items.
b Delivery moisture is an inspection item for delivery inspection only, not for other inspections.
4.2 Discarded and reused raw materials shall not be used for sanitary absorbent pants for women. The products shall be clean and not fade, thereof, the leak-proof membrane shall be intact, free of caked mass and damages, and the sealing shall be firm and the elastic band shall be bonded evenly. Raw materials used for sanitary absorbent pants for women: the fluff pulp shall meet the requirements of GB/T 21331, the super-absorbent polymer shall meet the requirements of GB/T 22875-2018, the hygienic products mount shall meet the requirements of QB/T 4508, the air-laid shall meet the requirements of GB/T 24292, and the coverstock shall meet the requirements of GB/T 30133.
4.3 For sanitary absorbent pants for women with 5 or more pieces per package, each piece shall be packaged independently.
4.4 The maximum applicable hip circumference and waist circumference of sanitary absorbent pants for women shall meet the requirements of Table 2 or the contract.
Table 2
Specification Small (S) Medium (M) Large (L) Extra large (XL)
Applicable hip circumference/cm 60~90 80~95 85~105 90~115
Maximum applicable waist circumference/cm ≥90 ≥95 ≥105 ≥115
Note 1: If the product meets the requirements of two or more adjacent specifications in Table 2 at the same time, it may also be named as the combination of these specifications.
Example: If the product specification is marked as "S-M", the applicable hip circumference of the product is marked as 60~95cm, and the maximum applicable waist circumference meets the requirement of greater than or equal to 95cm.
Note 2: The maximum applicable hip circumference and waist circumference of sanitary absorbent pants for women of other special specifications may be specified provided that the use condition is satisfied.
5 Test methods
5.1 Specimen treatment and test conditions
When determining the absorption rate, the specimen shall be treated for at least 4h under the standard atmospheric condition specified in GB/T 10739, and tested under this condition.
5.2 Absorption rate
Determine the absorption rate according to Annex A. See Annex B for the preparation and physical property requirements of standard synthetic test solution for determination.
5.3 pH value
Determine the pH value according to Annex C.
5.4 Formaldehyde content
Determine the formaldehyde content according to the high-performance liquid chromatography in GB/T 34448-2017. When sampling, remove the outer package of a single piece of sanitary absorbent pants for women, and cut specimens from both ends and the middle. The specimen shall contain materials of each layer.
5.5 Migratable fluorescent substance
Determine the migratable fluorescent substance according to Annex D.
5.6 Delivery moisture
Determine the delivery moisture according to GB/T 462. Sampling method: take 2 packages of samples, take one specimen from each package, cut off the elastic band at the specimen edge, and then take 2g test material from the middle of each specimen. Cut the test material into blocks, mix them uniformly and divide them into two groups for parallel test. The absolute error between two determined values shall not exceed 1.0%. Take the arithmetic average of them as the determination result, which is rounded off to one decimal place.
Note: Sampling time shall be shortened as possible, which is generally not more than 2min.
5.7 Judgment of applicable hip circumference
Check whether the specification marked on the product outer package and the corresponding applicable hip circumference are consistent with the specification and corresponding applicable hip circumference in Table 2. If consistent, the applicable hip circumference will be judged as acceptable, otherwise rejected.
5.8 Measurement of maximum applicable waist circumference
Measure the maximum applicable waist circumference according to Annex E.
6 Inspection rules
6.1 Inspection classification
6.1.1 Delivery inspection
Before delivery, the products must be inspected batch by batch by the manufacturer’s inspection personnel according to this standard, and only when the inspection results meet the standard requirements can they be delivered.
6.1.2 Type inspection
Similar products made of the same raw materials through the same process shall be subjected to type inspection at least once every two years, and type inspection shall also be carried out in case of any of the following circumstances:
a) where there are significant changes in raw material and process;
b) when the product is put into production for the first time or the production is resumed after a 6-month shutdown;
c) when the production site is changed;
d) when the result of delivery inspection differs greatly from that of the previous type inspection;
e) upon the request of the national quality supervision organization.
6.2 Inspection items
Items for delivery inspection are routine inspection items, and those for type inspection are all inspection items other than delivery moisture, as detailed in Table 3.
Table 3
S.N. Inspection item Delivery inspection Type inspection Clause/subclause No. of requirement Clause/subclause No. of inspection method
1 Absorption rate ● ● 4.1 5.2

5 Delivery moisture ● - 4.1 5.6
6 Maximum applicable waist circumference ● ● 4.4 5.8
Note: "●" indicates items that need to be inspected, and "-” indicates items that do not need to be inspected.
6.3 Requirements for inspection batch
Similar products of the same raw material, process and specification and delivered together are regarded as a batch, and single piece sample is taken for acceptance inspection. The quantity of each batch shall not exceed 10,000 pieces.
6.4 Sampling method
Three products are randomly selected from a batch, and 5 packages (2 pieces per package, or to be converted into corresponding number of packages if less than 2 pieces) are sampled from each product, 15 packages of samples in total.
