1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, basic principles, assessment procedures, boundaries, scope of energy source statistics, benchmark of energy consumption, actual energy consumption, energy efficiency index, energy efficiency analysis, and actions for energy efficiency assessment of grate-kiln iron ore pelletizing process.
This standard is applicable to energy efficiency assessment and energy-saving potential analysis of the grate-kiln iron ore pelletizing process in iron and steel enterprises.

4 Basic principles
The energy efficiency assessment of grate-kiln iron ore pelletizing process shall adhere to the following basic principles:
a) Legal compliance: The assessment object shall comply with national laws and regulations of China, the policies for the iron and steel industry, and relevant mandatory standards for energy conservation and emission reduction;
b) Efficient use of energy: Promote the efficient use and rational allocation of energy, encourage enterprises to adopt advanced energy-saving technologies or management measures, and improve production links with low energy efficiency;
