Determination of true relative density of coal
1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, method summary, reagents and materials, apparatuses, determination procedures, result calculation and precision for the determination of true relative density of coal.
This standard is applicable to anthracite, bituminous coal and lignite.
2 Normative references
The following normative documents contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this standard. For dated references, subsequent amendments (excluding corrections) to, or revisions, of any of these publications do not apply to this standard. However parties to agreements based on this standard are encouraged to investigate the possibility of applying the most recent editions of the normative documents indicated below. For undated references, the latest edition applies.
GB/T 212 Proximate analysis of coal (GB/T 212-2008, ISO 11722:1999, ISO 1171:1997, ISO 562:1998, NEQ)
3 Terms and definitions
For the purpose of this standard, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
true relative density of coal
ratio of the mass of coal (excluding pores in coal) to the mass of water of the same volume at 20℃
4 Method summary
Using sodium dodecyl sulfate solution as wetting agent, the coal sample is wetted and settled in a density bottle, and the adsorbed gas is removed. The true relative density of coal is calculated according to the mass of water of the same volume discharged from the coal sample.
5 Reagents and materials
Sodium dodecyl sulfate solution: chemically pure, 20g/L. Weigh 20g of sodium dodecyl sulfate, dissolve it in water, and then dilute the solution to 1L with water.
