This standard is formulated by reference to "Nickel and Nickel Alloy Plate, Sheet and Strip" (ISO 6208: 1992), "Nickel Plate, Sheet and Strip" (ASTM B162-99 (2005)) and "Nickel-Copper Alloy (UNS N04400) Plate, Sheet and Strip" (ASTM B127-05).
This standard replaces "Nickel and Nickel Alloy Strips" (GB/T 2072 1993) and partially replaces "Nickel and Its Alloy Sheets and Strips for Electronic Tube" (GB/T 11088-1989).
Compared with GB/T 2072-1993 and GB/T 11088-1989, major variations in this standard are as follows:
- Pure nickel designations N5, N7 and their chemical composition requirements were added. Thereinto, the chemical composition of N5 pure nickel is identical to that of designation NW2201 in ISO standards and designation UNS N02201 in ASTM standards while the chemical composition of N7 pure nickel is identical to that of designation NW2200 in ISO standards and designation UNS N02200 in ASTM standards;
- Nickel alloy designation NCu30 and its chemical composition requirements were added. Thereinto, the chemical composition is identical to that of designation NW4400 in ISO standards and designation UNS N04400 in ASTM standards;
- The width of strip is uniformly specified as 20mm~250 mm, and thereof the shortest length requirements are specified according to the strip thickness;
- Permissible thickness deviation of strip is uniformly specified as two-way deviation;
- Mechanical property requirements of strip of partial specifications at ambient temperature were added;
- Cupping test requirements of strips of partial specifications were improved.
- By reference to ISO standards and ASTM standards, the mechanical property and process property requirements of nickel and nickel alloy whose designations are N5, N7 and NCu30 were newly-added.
This standard was proposed by China Non-ferrous Metals Industry Federation.
This standard is under the jurisdiction of National Technical Committee on Nonferrous Metals of Standardization Administration of China.
This standard was drafted by Baoti Group Co., Ltd. and Shenyang Tongxing Industry Co., Ltd. Chief drafting staffs of this standard: Zhang Pinghui, Huang Yongguang, Li Xianjun, Zhang Mingxiang, Wang Li, Liu Gang and Liu Guanqiang.
The National Technical Committee on Nonferrous Metals of Standardization Administration of China is in charge of the explanation of this standard.
The previous editions of the standard replaced by this standard are as follows:
- GB/T 2072-1980, GB/T 2072-1993.
- GB/T 11088-1989.
