This is Part 3 of GB/T 18006.
This part is prepared in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This part replaces the relevant contents of degradable tableware in GB/T 18006.1-2009 General requirement of plastic disposable tableware. The following main changes have been made with respect to the specific part of degradable disposable tableware in GB/T 18006.1-2009:
——The standard name is changed from General requirement of plastic disposable tableware to General requirement of degradable disposable tableware;
——The classification method of degradable disposable tableware according to its heat resistance in use is given (see Clause 4);
——The applicable range of degradability requirements, and the technical indexes and inspection methods of degradability are modified (see 5.7, 5.8, 6.11 and 6.12; 5.6 and 6.11 of Edition 2009).

General requirement of degradable disposable tableware
1 Scope
This part specifies the terms and definitions, classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, as well as product packaging marking, packaging, transportation and storage of degradable disposable tableware.
This part is applicable to the degradable disposable tableware made of various raw materials such as resin, starch and plant fiber as defined in 3.3, and also applicable to other degradable disposable tableware in contact with food and covered with or coated with or compounded with biodegradable plastic film or sheet.
This part is not applicable to paper tableware such as paper cups and bowls.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purpose of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
degradation
biodegradation
property of being able to be finally decomposed into compounds with simpler components and mineralized inorganic salts and dead biological bodies of the contained elements under natural conditions, such as soil, sandy soil and water, or under specific conditions, such as composting or anaerobic digestion, or in aqueous culture solution
Note: Simple compounds include carbon dioxide (CO2) or/and methane (CH4), water (H2O), etc.

disposable tableware
utensils intended for dining or similar purposes, including disposable lunch boxes, plates, saucers, knives, forks, spoons, chopsticks, bowls, cups, barrels, cans, pots, covers, etc., as well as disposable lined tableware with external supports, and food packages for dining or similar purposes, but not food packages without unexpected dining purposes or similar purposes, such as fresh food trays, yogurt cups, jelly cups, etc., and food packages for food preservation, display, storage and packaging purposes, such as biscuit foil, cake box, etc.

4 Classification
The degradable disposable tableware specified in this part may be divided into heat-resistant and non-heat-resistant disposable degradable tableware according to its heat resistance in use.
5 Technical requirements
5.1 Appearance
The appearance shall meet the following requirements:
a) normal color;
b) no crack openings and filling defects;
c) no greasy dirt, dust, mildew and other foreign matter on the surface;
d) the surface shall be smooth and clean, and uniform in texture, without scratch, buckling, peeling or delamination, breakage or perforation;
e) the colored tableware shall be free from obvious discoloration, fading, uneven color (except when there are decoration requirements), stains, etc.;
f) if the surface of tableware is coated, the coated surface shall be free from sagging, peeling, cracking, blistering, etc.
g) no obvious foreign matter, blistering, model defect, burr, expansion and other defects.
