3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this standard, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 25102.100, GB/T 25102.1 and GB/T 2422 as well as the following apply.
3.1
hearing aid
electronic device used to amplify sound and compensate for hearing loss, usually consisting of microphone, amplifier, and earphone, and powered by a low-voltage battery
3.2
air-conduct hearing aid
hearing aid in which sound amplified by air conduction is transmitted to the inner ear through air in the ear canal
3.3
bone conduct hearing aid
hearing aid that transmits amplified sound to the inner ear by mechanical vibration of mastoid or skull
3.4
box hearing aid
body-worn hearing aid
hearing aid worn on the body (other than the head) of the listener
