Mechanical drawings—Surface roughness symbols and methods of indicating
This standard is identical with the international standard ISO 1302-1992 Technical drawings — Method of indicating surface texture.
1 Subject content and applicable scope
This standard specifies the symbols and codes of surface roughness of parts and their indicating methods on drawings.
This standard is applicable to mechanical and electrical product drawings and relevant technical documents. This standard may also be used to other drawings and technical documents for reference.

3 Symbols and codes of surface roughness
3.1 The surface roughness symbols and codes indicated on the drawings are the requirements for the completed surface.
3.2 Provisions on surface roughness shall be given according to functional requirements. If only machining (with or without material removal) is required, but surface roughness is not otherwise required, only surface roughness symbols are indicated
3.3 See Table 1 for the symbols on the drawings indicating the surface roughness of parts.
